About Us

Steve grew up in the small farming & forestry community of Fort Assiniboine, Alberta, Canada. Loving husband to his wife Peggy for 30 yrs and the proud father of two young men, Mac & Will.

 

Steve has been in the Cased-Hole Wireline services sector of the Oil & Gas industry since early 1991. Throughout his career he has held several Specialty Logging positions in both operations and sales with several cased hole wireline service companies, primarily in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. In 2016, he retired from direct operations in the cased hole wireline services and started  his consulting business, “That Wireline Guy”, where he currently provides contract technical training, technical operations support and log quality control review specializing in Well Integrity tools, supporting operations in both the North American on-shore market and abroad.

Steve is a contract instructor for Energy Safety Canada and one of the Enserva Oilwell Blaster instructors. Steve also sits on the Enserva Oilwell Perforators Committee.

He is currently qualified on the SparWorks, Warrior, Premier, Wellsun and CSS cased hole log acquisition systems for lithology, well integrity and completions/abandonment applications.

In his spare time, Steve has been known to go tenting in -30°C with the local Scout Troop or dip a paddle with his kayak on one of the many great Western Canadian rivers or lakes (when the water isn't too stiff that is).
